Houghton Walmart sponsors Lilli Girtz. Lilli is a member of the Houghton High School Class of 2026. She was involved in JROTC for five years. She helped lead the program alongside other cadets and assisted in organizing events. Lilli received the Superior Cadet Award as well as recognition for her academic achievement. She volunteered through JROTC by serving veterans on Veterans Day at Applebees. Lilli has placed American flags at the cemetery to honor veterans. She volunteered with Habitat for Humanity where she helped with various stages of home construction, including on her own home. At Evangel Community Church Lilli has helped to care for infants and young children in the nursery. Some of her hobbies include spending time with friends and family, reading, and hiking to waterfalls. Lilli plans to attend Gogebic Community College this fall to study medical coding and billing. She hopes to work in a local hospital or dental office. Lilli works as a cashier at Walmart. This job has helped her to build strong customer service and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment. Her long-term goal is to build a stable career in the healthcare field. Lilli is the daughter of Lori Mills and Daryl Usitalo.
