Huskies football receives Top 25 votes after win
The Michigan Tech Huskies received votes in the first American Football Coaches Association Div. II Coaches’ poll released Monday.
The Huskies beat Hillsdale 29-14 last week and held the Chargers to just 160 yards of total offense, including minus-9 rushing yards.
Saturday was Michigan Tech’s 10th straight season-opening win.
Ferris State is the top Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference team at No. 2. The Bulldogs took down Findlay 24-23. Grand Valley State University is ranked No. 10 after a 35-10 win over Edinboro. Ashland, Saginaw Valley State and MTU were the other teams receiving votes.
The Huskies visit McKendree University for a 2 p.m. kickoff Saturday in the teams’ first-ever matchup.
