HOUGHTON — The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association named Michigan Tech head coach Jake Isaacson the Midwest Region Men’s Coach of the Year.

It’s the second time Isaacson received a Midwest Region Coach of the Year award from the USTFCCCA after being named the Women’s Coach of the Year in 2018.

In Isaacson’s third year as head coach of the Huskies, his team finished second at the 2019 NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Championships while three runners earned All-Region honors. The second-place finish allowed Tech to directly qualify for the 2019 NCAA Division II National Championships for the first time in program history. The men’s team also finished second at the 2019 GLIAC Championships with four runners scoring All-GLIAC finishes.

The Huskies compete in Sacramento, California at the 2019 NCAA Division II National Championships. Held at the Haggin Oaks Golf Course on Nov. 23, the men run in the 10K at 2:15 p.m. EST.
