Wolverines release 2020-21 regular season schedule

The Calumet Wolverines open the 2020-21 season hosting arch-rival Portage Lake Pioneers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 18.

The Wolverines released its schedule this week after the Great Lakes Hockey League season was derailed by the COVID-19 pandemic. The GLHL won’t have a regular season, but the Wolverines, Pioneers and Marquette Mutineers cobbled together a schedule to play each other through March.

The Wolverines visit the Pioneers at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19 and return after New Years, hosting the Pioneers on Jan. 2.

Games will be played only if local and state guidelines allow, the Wolverines said, adding that more information will be announced about fan attendance before each team’s first home game.

Calumet has 14 games scheduled for the upcoming season, with 10 games against the Pioneers. The Wolverines close out the season March 12 hosting the Mutineers.

The GLHL tournament is March 25 through March 28. The league will release more information about the tournament at a later date.

Calumet will face Portage Lake in the Gibson Cup Series on April 2 through April 4.

The Pioneers website had only the Dec. 18-19 series against the Wolverines listed on their website.
