Hancock’s Raasio named Co-Player of Year in West-PAC

Hancock senior Chad Raasio spent time defending the opposing team’s best player, scoring, distributing and being a regular on the boards for the Bulldogs this year. The do-it-all forward was named as Co-Player of the Year with West Iron County’s A.J. Weisnicht Friday by the league’s coaches.

Calumet’s Mike Ojala was selected as the Coach of the Year. His Copper Kings earned a West-PAC regular season title with a 6-2 record, edging out the West Iron County Wykons (5-3).

On the West-PAC First Team, it was Houghton sophomore George Butvilas, Calumet senior Wyatt Loukus, Hancock senior Mike McParlan, WIC junior Steven Nelson and Calumet sophomore Matt Ojala.

The West-PAC Second Team was comprised of Hancock senior Reece Anderson, L’Anse sophomore Logan Fish, Houghton freshman Brad Sirard, L’Anse senior Brandt Tembreull, WIC junior Neil Tomasoski and Calumet junior Cooper Twardzik.
