Bulldogs earn sweep over Purple Hornets

HANCOCK — The Hancock Bulldogs softball team moved to 8-0 in the WestPAC after sweeping the L’Anse Purple Hornets by scores of 7-6 and 10-4.

In Game One, Delaney Heinonen was the winning pitcher. She pitched a complete game, giving up seven hits, six walks, four earned runs and recorded 13 strikeouts.

Emma Almquist went 3-4 including an inside-the-park home run. Abby Brooks had two hits for the Bulldogs and D’Andra Kero scored three runs.

Taylor Sanregret had three hits to drive the offense for the Purple Hornets.

In Game Two, Payton Dube was the winning pitcher. She pitched six innings giving up four hits, four earned runs and six walks.

Dube and Heinonen went 2-for-4 at the plate.

Maija Rice had two hits for L’Anse.
