Houghton still unbeaten

n remained unbeaten in Over 50 Softball League play Thursday night.

The league leaders scored a 10-4 win over Tapiola behind three hits by Dave Kamerand.

Adding two safeties each for the 6-0 winners were winning pitcher Scott Madajewski, Jed Pollard, Dave Usitalo, Darren Hietala and Dan Eikenberry.

Steve Balla, Andy Heikkinen and Scott Hall picked up two hits for apiece Tapiola. Len Juntunen was the losing pitcher.

In the other game, Chassell defeated South Range by a 15-5 score.

Jim LaChance belted a long homer among three hits for the winners. Jay LeClaire, Steve Giddings and Charlie Kemppainen also had three raps.

Pat Duguay, Nick Lindemann and Jerry Fish added two more hits for 3-3 Chassell. Mitch Lake was the winning hurler, with Joe Rossi taking the loss.

Dave Fehringer and Ed Furst counted two hits each for Range.
