HOUGHTON — Michigan Tech is riding high lately.

And the latest Division I college hockey poll reflects it.

The Huskies (13-9-1, 8-6 WCHA) were ranked at No. 17 following a split at No. 15 Arizona State. Tech arrived in Arizona last week after winning the Great Lakes Invitational.

It’s Tech’s first national ranking since Dec. 3, 2018 when the Huskies were No. 20.

Tech hosts No. 16 Bowling Green (12-9-1, 7-6-1) in a pivotal WCHA series at 7:07 p.m. Friday and 6:07 p.m. Saturday. The Huskies, fourth in WCHA standings, are just a point ahead of Bowling Green in conference standings.

It’ll be Tech’s first games at home since facing Clarkson on Dec. 13-14.

The Huskies lost the first game of 2020 and the decade, but after being swept by Minnesota State on Nov. 8-9, they’re 10-3-1. In those 14 games, the Huskies have outscored opponents 41-28.
