Prep Basketball: Ontonagon boys dismantle Nimrods
ONTONAGON — The Ontonagon boys basketball team averaged 17 points a quarter in a 68-47 victory over the Watersmeet Nimrods.
The Gladiators had three players in double figures. They included Austin Walters with 16 points. Luke Strasser and Logan Latvis both had 13.
“It’s always a good night when everyone scores and to have a couple of players in double figures,” said Gladiator head coach Brittany Turin-Jilbert.
She credits a first-half press in slowing the Nimrods down and causing them to miss their shots.
“It’s really nice to be playing this well this time of the year,” Turin-Jilbert said. “Hopefully we can finish strong against Baraga Thursday going into districts.”
