Father-son duo win Portage Lake club championships
HOUGHTON — Chris Roy and his son, Alex, became the first father-son duo to win the club championship at Portage Lake Golf Course.
Chris Roy won the Senior Championship for the fifth time, defeating Tom Ward in the final, 4-2. It’s Roy’s first Senior Championship since repeating 2013-14.
Alex Roy topped Dylan Peterson 2-0 for his first adult PLGC Open Championship. Alex Roy was ahead two after two holes before Peterson narrowed the lead to one on No. 5. Roy defeated former champion Alex Hughes and defending champion Pete Rouleau en route to the championship.
Bill Massey captured the Super Senior Division championship. Massey was tied with Chuck Lucchesi entering No. 18. Massey parred the hole as Luccehi bogeyed, giving Massey the narrow victory for his fourth championship.
