MTU-NMU hockey matchup canceled

Michigan Tech’s hockey series against Northern Michigan this weekend was canceled.

At least one positive COVID-19 test in Northern’s hockey program was cited for the series cancellation. The university neither specifed how many results were positive, nor identified players or personnel.

Saturday was scheduled to be Tech’s home opener after playing Friday night in Marquette.

The Huskies tied and lost at Lake Superior State last weekend.

Tech (0-1-1) hosts Minnesota State in its next series on Dec. 4-5. Friday’s game is 7:07 p.m. and Saturday is 5:07 p.m.

An NMU press release said the Wildcats’ next six games are affected. The Wildcats are scheduled to play at Minnesota State on Dec. 11-12.
