Michigan Tech added a Yooper to the roster.

The Huskies announced Sunday that they added Tristan Ashbrook to the hockey team. Ashbrook, a Manistique native, transferred from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He scored nine goals and four assists there last season as a freshman.

Ashrbook, a 5-foot-11, 175-pound center, scored three game-winning goals and was second for RPI with 268 faceoff wins and 85 shots on goal.

Ashbrook previously played two seasons for the Lincoln Stars in the USHL. He scored 52 points in 109 games for the Stars. He played one season for the Bismarck Bobcats in the NAHL and two seasons for Triple-A Omaha.

Ashbrook also attended the USA Hockey National Development Camp in 2015.

The Huskies (4-3-1) host Alabama Huntsville on Jan. 2-3.
