Fastpitch: REL, Inc. ends JB’s Sales and Service’s 8-game win streak
REL, Inc. ended JB’s Sales and Service’s eight-game win streak with a 7-6 win in Copper Country Women’s Fastpitch Softball action Tuesday night.
REL, Inc. scored two runs in the first and added three in the fourth for a 5-0 lead. JB’s answered with a run in the fourth when Sophia Heinonen scored on a passed ball.
JB’s scored two more after a short rain delay in the fifth to narrow its deficit to 5-3.
REL, Inc. added two runs in the sixth inning, and JB’s answered with a pair of runs.
A downpour ended the game in the top of the seventh.
Delaney Heinonen was credited with the win on the mound. Grace Brunet took the loss.
Heinonen, D’Andra Kero and Megan Peterson each singled.
Brynn Aho tripled for JB’s. Kenzie Ekdahl and Alex Jahfetson each singled.
Up next are league playoffs beginning today. The first two playoff games are 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at Boneyard in Lake Linden.
Game 3, a losers bracket quarterfinal, is 7 p.m. Friday at Boneyard.
The semifinal games are 10 a.m. and noon Saturday, with the championship game at 2 p.m. All games are at the Boneyard in Lake Linden.
