Gremlins, Jets earn team wins in Blue Bolts-Panthers Invite

The Houghton Gremlins girls and the Jeffers Jets boys cross country teams won the Blue Bolts-Panthers Invite Thursday afternoon.
The Gremlins had three of the top four finishers in the girls' race.
Tessa Rautiola finished with a time of 21:00 to earn the individual title as well as help carry the Gremlins to the win. Claire Filpus was second with a time of 21:33. Lily Ross also had a strong race, finishing fourth with a time of 21:57.
Dollar Bay Blue Bolts runner Taryn Maki finished sixth with a time of 22:19. Hancock's Rayna Towles took eighth with a time of 22:25. Teammate Ella Keranen finished 10th, thanks to a time of 22:47.
Houghton's Ayla Miller took ninth running the course in 22:46.
On the boys' side, Dollar Bay's Amos Norland finished first with a time of 17:19. Houghton's Cyrus Hamlin (17:51) finished second.
The Jets were paced by Tavin Larson, whose 17:53 was good for third. Teammates Cameron Anderson (18:04), Landon Larson (18:10), and Brit Heinonen (18:25) took sixth, seventh, and eighth, respectively.
Houghton's Isaiah Lawson took fourth with a time of 17:57 and teammate Birk Seagren took ninth with a time of 18:44.
