Chris Lipe signs in ECHL with Iowa Heartlanders

CORALVILLE, Iowa — Michigan Tech senior defenseman Chris Lipe signed a contract with the Iowa Heartlanders in the ECHL. Lipe joins former Huskies Alec Broetzman and Tommy Parrottino in Iowa.

Lipe skated in 129 games for Michigan Tech over the past four seasons. He tallied a career-high 10 points this season with a pair of goals and eight assists. He scored power-play goals in wins over St. Lawrence (Oct. 29) and at St. Thomas (Nov. 18). The Rockford, Michigan native tallied 25 career points (four goals, 21 assists) for the Huskies and received the team’s Rick Yeo Unsung Hero Award last season after appearing in 29-of-30 games.

Iowa is in its second season of ECHL hockey. The Heartlanders play at Xtream Arena in Coralville, Iowa.
