Isaac Gordon named CCHA Rookie of the Week, again

HOUGHTON — Michigan Tech forward Isaac Gordon is the CCHA Rookie of the Week the conference announced on Monday. It’s the second straight week, and the third time this season, he’s received the honor.

Gordon had a goal and an assist in a CCHA weekend split at Lake Superior State over the weekend. He scored the lone goal for the Huskies on Friday for his team-leading 13th of the season. Gordon then had the primary assist on the game-winning goal by Ryland Mosley on Saturday.

Gordon leads the Huskies with 23 points in his rookie campaign on 13 goals and 10 assists. He ranks second in the CCHA and seventh amongst NCAA rookies in goals and 14th amongst NCAA newcomers in points.

Tech is 11-11-5 overall and 8-7-1 in the CCHA and plays another U.P. rival, Northern Michigan, this weekend for the second time this season. The teams will meet in Marquette on Friday at 7:07 p.m. and Houghton on Saturday at 6:07 p.m.
