Jets hockey tops Miners

HOUGHTON — The Jeffers Jets hockey team scored three times in the first period, and then added five more in the second as part of a 9-1 win over the Negaunee Miners Wednesday at the MacInnes Student Ice Arena in Houghton.

With the win, the Jets closed out the regular season 14-9-1 for the regular season.

With two goals and two assists, Kailob Bianco had a big night for the Jets to lead them offensively. He was not the only four-point scorer, however, as Cage Osterman scored a goal and added three assists as well.

Brogan Turner picked up two goals and an assist. Griffin Heinonen and Cody Turner each had a goal and an assist.

Bryson Kangas had the other Jets’ tally. Trayton Helminen and Max Kangas each had one assist.

Kasen Helminen made 10 saves to earn the win in goal.
