Top rookie again: Gordon named CCHA Rookie of the Week for fourth time

HOUGHTON — Michigan Tech’s Isaac Gordon has been named the CCHA Rookie of the Week for the fourth time this season.

Gordon tallied six points in the CCHA Quarterfinal sweep of Bowling Green over the weekend with a goal and two assists each night. He scored the second goal of the game for the Huskies and had the primary assist on Logan Pietila’s game-winner in Friday’s 5-0 win. Gordon scored Tech’s second goal Saturday and added assists on the fourth and fifth goals in the 6-4 victory.

Gordon leads the Huskies with 18 goals and 36 points. He is currently on a three-game point streak with three goals and five assists. He ranks fourth amongst NCAA rookies in goals and seventh in points. Gordon tied Kyle Kukkonen’s mark from last season for the fifth-most goals by a Michigan Tech freshman in program history. His 30 points are the most by a Tech rookie since Alex Petan in 2012-13 when he tallied 34.
