Honored for their play: Four Huskies given All-GLIAC honors in tennis on Friday

HOUGHTON — Four Huskies from the Michigan Tech tennis teams were honored when the GLIAC announced its award winners and all-conference teams on Friday. Emily Cojocaru was named to the All-GLIAC First Team in singles and the All-GLIAC Second Team along with playing partner Caoimhe McDonnell in doubles. Chiara Heinz and Leon Sell were named All-GLIAC Honorable Mention.

Emily Cojocaru went 4-3 in her No. 1 singles GLIAC matches. She teamed up with McDonnell in the No. 1 doubles spot and the duo went 3-3.

Chiara Heinz went undefeated in GLIAC doubles matches in the No. 3 position. She partnered with Emily Rose on six of the wins and Caoimhe McDonnell in the other. Heinz had a 5-2 record in her singles matches with three wins at No. 5 and two at No. 4.

Leon Sell teamed up with Jack Lin in the No. 1 doubles and the two went 3-3 in GLIAC matches. Sell also held a 1-4 record in singles, playing in the No. 3 slot all season.
