Isaac Gordon named CCHA Rookie of the Month

HOUGHTON — Michigan Tech freshman forward Isaac Gordon was named the CCHA Rookie of the Month for March the league announced on Tuesday. It’s the second time this season Gordon has received the honor.

Gordon, a native of Landmark, Manitoba, paced all CCHA rookies with eight points in March, scoring three goals and adding five assists in seven contests. He helped the Huskies win their first Mason Cup Championship and third consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance, posting one power-play tally in the process. He had three straight multi-point games, including back-to-back three-point contests against Bowling Green in the Mason Cup Quarterfinals.

Gordon appeared in all 40 games for the Huskies as a freshman, leading the team with 36 points and tying Ryland Mosley with 18 goals. His 36 points were the most by a Tech rookie since Colin Murphy in 2002-03 when he tallied 37. Gordon was named the CCHA Rookie of the Year and to the All-CCHA Second Team and All-CCHA Rookie Team. He was named the CCHA Rookie of the Month for November and was the CCHA Rookie of the Week four times.
