The girls nearly doubled the second-place Red Devils, 121 to 69. Ontonagon took third and Ewen-Trout Creek finished sixth.

The boys finished with 159 points, which was over 60 points better than second-place Bessemer (94). Ontonagon finished seventh.

Tessa Rautiola had Houghton’s first individual win of the day for the girls, taking the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:39.72. She also won the 3200 run (12:18.87), defeating Ewen’s Bree Besonen to do so.

Houghton’s Lily Ross won the 800 with a time of 2:40.79.

The Gremlins’ Emily Fay won the pole vault at a height of 7-feet, 0-inches.

In the 100 wheelchair, Amy Sziber of Houghton finished with a time of 34.62 seconds.

The Gremlins also won the 4×400 relay as well.

Ontonagon’s Violet Amos won the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:03.18. She also won the 200 in a time of 28.77.

On the boys’ side, the Gremlins got off to a good start with a win in the 110 hurdles by Brody Mattila, who finished with a time of 17.19 seconds. Mattila later won the 300 hurdles as well with a time of 47.02 seconds.

Mattila then earned a win in the long jump with a distance of 18-feet, 10-inches.

Luke Hill of Houghton took the 1600 run with a time of 4:48.56. Colin Van Karsen and Birk Seagren finished third and fourth. Hill also won the 800 with a time of 2:06.93.

Seagren earned the win in the 3200 run by finishing with a time of 11:21.88.

Houghton’s Henry Lounibos won the high jump with a height of 5-feet, 6-inches.

The Gremlins won the 4×800 relay and the 4×400 relay as well.
