Huskies add D1 transfer Julia Fledderjohn

HOUGHTON — The Michigan Tech Huskies volleyball team has added Julia Fledderjohn to its roster for the upcoming 2025 season. Fledderjohn is transferring to Houghton from NCAA Division I Charleston Southern University, where she was a member of the volleyball team for the past three seasons.

The native of Commerce Township, Michigan will have a year of eligibility remaining as a defensive specialist/libero.

“Julia is a wonderful addition to our team, adding a high level of skill and valuable leadership experience to our backcourt,” Huskies coach Cindy Pindral said. “She commands the court, has excellent touch, and self-proclaims that she loves to serve receive, which is a rarity in our sport. She also brings a healthy mix of competitiveness and playfulness, which fits in well with our culture. We are excited to have her for her final year of eligibility and look forward to seeing her contributions on the court in the fall.”

Fledderjohn led the Buccaneers with 275 digs in 2024, averaging 2.78 per set. She appeared in all 99 sets and also tallied 86 assists and 22 aces. She hit double figures 14 times, including a career-high 27 digs against Gardner-Webb.

Fledderjohn played 58 sets as a sophomore and averaged 1.32 digs per set and in 100 sets as a freshman, averaging 2.61 digs per set. For her Charleston Southern Career, Fledderjohn totaled 656 digs in 257 sets, averaging 2.20 digs per set. She also registered 116 assists and 51 aces.

Fledderjohn played for Lakeland High School in Commerce Township, Michigan, and won an MHSAA District Title. As a senior, she tallied 180 kills, 179 digs, and 28 aces. She also played for Legacy Club Volleyball.
