Copper Mountain Conference announces boys all-conference teams

HOUGHTON — On Monday, the Copper Mountain Conference announced its all-conference boys teams.

Ewen-Trout Creek senior Austin Gordon was named All-Conference Most Valuable Player. The Panthers earned another major award as senior Caden Besonen was named Defensive Player of the Year.

Baraga coach John Boever earned Coach of the Year honors.

The CMC featured a trio of champions this year in Ewen-Trout Creek, Wakefield-Marenisco, and Dollar Bay-Tamarack City.

Dollar Bay junior earned Elite Team honors along with Baraga junior Daniel Connor. Also making the Elite team were Ironwood senior Axton Ruotsala and junior Nick Miskovich, and Wakefield sophomore Chase Lane.

The First Team – Copper Country Division featured Connor, Tourtilott, L’Anse freshman Sam Lee, Dollar Bay junior Caleb Kentala, and Lake Linden-Hubbell sophomore Josh Daavettila.

The First Team – Porcupine Mountain Division featured Gordon, Lane, Ruotsala, Besonen, and Miskovich.

The Second Team – Copper Country Division featured Chassell junior Brayden Larson, Jeffers junior Landon Larson, Dollar Bay sophomore Baron Colbert, Baraga senior Nolan Hendrickson, and L’Anse junior Keegan Davidson.

The Second Team – Porcupine Mountain Division featured Ontonagon junior Jack Nelson, Ewen freshman Brody Majurin, Bessemer junior Leland Hollenbeck, Wakefield freshman Brock Pangrazzi and senior Pat Perrron, Watersmeet senior Blake Shively, and Ironwood junior Brendan McCullough.

Chassell senior Thomas Loukus and junior Grady Olson, and Baraga sophomore Landon Smith all earned honorable mentions for the Copper Country Division.

Ontonagon senior Jerry Majurin and senior Carson Uotila, Bessemer senior Gabe Harju, sophomore Caden Harju, and sophomore Jayden Verrett, and Ironwood senior Landon Buerger all earned honorable mentions for the Porcupine Mountain Division.
