Tomashek named D2CCA All-America

HOUGHTON — Michigan Tech junior guard Marcus Tomashek has been named to the D2CCA First Team All-America selection announced Wednesday. Tomashek, the D2CCA Midwest Region Player of the Year and GLIAC Player of the Year, earns his first All-America accolade of his career.

Tomashek is the first CCA All-America selection since Kyle Monroe in 2019-20.

The Green Bay, Wisconsin, standout is an NABC All-America selection, NABC All-District selection, the D2CCA Midwest Region Player of the Year and GLIAC Player of the Year honoree, adding All-Region and All-GLIAC First Team distinctions. He helped the Huskies to a GLIAC regular season outright championship and an NCAA Tournament berth as Michigan Tech finished the season 24-8 overall.

For the year, Tomashek was a five-time GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week and a one-time National Player of the Week selection, amassing 23.2 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.8 dimes per outing. The junior ranks 11th in the country in scoring, collecting 30 or more points nine times, including two 40-point outbursts. His 720 points this season ranks seventh nationally and the fourth-most points for a season in program history.
