LAKE LINDEN — A big “thank you” goes out to Keweenaw Chevrolet, Quincy Dining, Gold Standard, and Moyle Enterprises for their generous sponsorships that made the new Lake Linden-Hubbell softball team locker room a reality. The new facility, located at the team’s home field — affectionately known as “The Boneyard,” marks a significant improvement for the athletic program and the students who made it possible.

This project was about more than just athletics, it was also a major educational opportunity. The Lake Linden-Hubbell Schools Building Construction Program, led by new Tech Ed teacher Andrew Goldsworthy, took on the challenge of designing and constructing the locker room. The real-world experience gained by students in the program has been invaluable.

“This was a win-win,” said Goldsworthy. “Our building construction students were able to work on a project that has a real impact, and at the same time, it gives back to the school’s athletic program. Opportunities like this are rare, especially with our limited budget. The generosity from our sponsors made this possible.”

The outpouring of community support not only enhances the experience for current and future athletes, but also strengthens the connection between local businesses, education, and youth development. The locker room stands as a symbol of what can happen when a community comes together with a shared vision.

On behalf of the school, students, and athletes: thank you, sponsors. Your support is making a lasting difference.
