Copper Mountain Conference announces softball all-conference honors
PAINESDALE — The Lake Linden-Hubbell Lakes nearly made a clean sweep of the top awards in the Copper Mountain Conference Friday. The Lakes were named Team of the Year, freshman Payton Goldsworthy was named Most Valuable Player, and senior Emily Jokela earned Top Pitcher of the Year.
Jeffers coach Wes Frahm was named Coach of the Year.
The Lakes had four players named to the all-conference team in Goldsworthy, Jokela, junior Cleo Milkey and sophomore Kyara Mills. The Jets had two players named to the team in juniors Naomi Frahm and Meg Ruohonen. Also named were L’Anse freshman Sylvia Allen and Ontonagon senior Alli Bobula.
Lakes senior Alli Corrigan and sophomore Ashlyn Steves were named honorable mention along with Jeffers junior Janet Mattila, L’Anse junior Lindsay Biekkola, and Ontonagon senior Madyson Pantti.
