Turner earns MVP as CMC announces all-conference picks

PAINESDALE — The Copper Mountain Conference announced their all-conference baseball selections Friday, and the Jets took several major awards. Jeffers earned the Baseball Team of the Year Award. Luke Paul earned Co-Coach of the Year along with Ironwood’s Cody Kurta, and Jets pitcher Cody Turner was named Most Valuable Player.

Three Jets made the All-Conference team in senior Nick Andrews, junior Brogan Turner, and freshman Blake Heltunen.

L’Anse senior Blake Harden, Ewen-Trout Creek senior Caden Besonen, and Ontonagon junior Dyceson Drew all made the team as well.

Lake Linden-Hubbell sophomore Tyler Axford, Ewen-Trout Creek senior Rex Strong, L’Anse junior Daniel Connor, Ontonagon senior Kole Kin, Ewen-Trout Creek senior Jamis Scott, L’Anse freshman Kale Cichosz, Jeffers junior Chad Isaacson, and Ontonagon freshman Klayton Kin all earned honorable mention.
