Portage Lake’s Allie Mettlach had a strong District 11 Minors softball tournament this past week. On Saturday, she went 1-for-2 at the plate with a walk and two runs scored. She also struck out one in one inning of relief pitching in a win over Marquette. On Sunday, she went 0-for-2 with a walk and run scored. In the pitcher’s circle, she had eight strikeouts in three innings of work. She was 0-for-1 Tuesday with a walk and was hit by a pitch. She also scored two runs.
