Jets volleyball tops Modeltowners
GWINN — The Jeffers Jets volleyball team earned a three-set victory over the Gwinn Modeltowners Tuesday on the road. The Jets won the first set 25-22, the second 25-9, and the third set 25-19.
Kylee Andrews drove the offense by racking up four aces and have an 85% serve completion rate.
Mia Nordstrom and Elizabeth Halonen each had three aces. Nordstrom also led the team with 16 kills.
Aili Kinnunen and Alaina Kangas had four kills each.
Panthers split triangular meet in Dollar Bay
DOLLAR BAY — On Tuesday, the Chassell Panthers volleyball team lost to the Hancock Bulldogs in two sets before defeating the Dollar Bay-Tamarack City Blue Bolts in three sets.
Against the Bulldogs, Hancock came away with scores of 25-12 and 25-13.
Elli Kuntze had three aces, one block and two kills. Oriana Olson and Dusty Lippold each had two kills.
Against the Blue Bolts, the Panthers needed three sets, falling in the opener, 25-27, then won 25-16 and 25-23 to close out the match.
Kuntze had five aces, 15 kills, 15 digs. Lippold had seven kills, four aces, and seven digs.
Sylvia Aho had two aces, six digs, and 22 assists.
