DOLLAR BAY — While the theme of the night was pink for breast cancer awareness month, the color of the Dollar Bay-Tamarack City volleyball court was blue – as in Blue Bolts. The Blue Bolts swept the visiting Watersmeet Nimrods, 3-0, Thursday, with scores of 25-10, 25-7 and 25-12.

It was their third win in a row, much to the delight of their coach Kristi Bellmore.

“This was a good night for us,” she said. “We played a complete game as we had to switch some people up and the girls filled the role properly.”

She added that strong service was key. It started in the first set as the Blue Bolts posted a set victory.

In the second set, the Blue Bolts jumped out to a 14-6 lead and never looked back. Hanna Keranan posted a service run of eight to close out the set. Keranan had a total of 16 service points. She was outpaced by Kiera Isaacson who had 17. This included seven aces and 15 kills for the outside hitter.

In set three, the score was tied at two and then at six before Isaacson and Keranen pushed the score to 18-8 and an eventual set win.

With the win, the Blue Bolts move to 17-10 on the season.
