Houghton's Goudge earns Dream Team accolades

MARQUETTE — The Upper Peninsula Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association met Wednesday to vote on the 2025 All U.P. teams and award winners for the 11-player football season.
Among those earning a spot on the Dream Team from the Copper Country was Brayden Goudge of Houghton. The senior Gremlin was named twice – first as a running back, and then as a punter.
As a running back, he posted 1,115 yards rushing this year. This included 16 touchdowns. Goudge is a WestPAC First Team defensive back and punter. He is committed to playing football at Michigan Tech next season.
The Menominee Maroons landed Mr. Football in Tanner Theurkauf, who was also Offensive Player of the Year. Escanaba’s Taylor Asgaard won Defensive Player of the Year. Marquette’s Pavel McCutcheon won the Mitchell Snyder Lineman of the Year.
Escanaba’s Bailey Lamb was named Coach of the Year. Menominee was the Large Schools Team of the Year, while Bark River-Harris was the Small Schools Team of the Year.
