Blue Bolts boys roll to win over Calumet

DOLLAR BAY — With three players in double figures, the Dollar Bay-Tamarack City Blue Bolts earned a win Monday over the visiting Calumet Copper Kings, 76-32.

The Blue Bolts’ Liam Tourtillott led all scorers with 18 points. He made four 3-pointers in the game.

“(We had) great pressure and defensive intensity tonight,” said Blue Bolts coach Jesse Kentala. “(This was a) complete performance. We shared the ball well.”

Beyond Liam Tourtillott’s big night, Baron Colbert downed 15 points, Noah Tourtillott picked up 12 points, and Caleb Kentala had 10.

Andrew Junttila led the Copper Kings with nine points. Peter Torola had eight.

Dollar Bay led 17-3 after the first quarter came to an end. Tyler Jaehnig led the Blue Bolts with four of his eight points in the first eight minutes.

While Calumet picked up 13 points in the second, the Blue Bolts added 20 of their own to take a 37-16 lead into the half.

Liam Tourtillott led the way for the Blue Bolts with nine points in the quarter.

Owen Loukus had five points, including a 3-pointer for the Copper Kings.

Colbert put up seven points in the third quarter to help Dollar Bay extend their lead as they outscored the Copper Kings 17-10 over the eight-minute span. Noah Tourtillott racked up six points in the quarter as well.

Junttila hit a 3-pointer and added another bucket to pick up five to lead Calumet.

In the fourth, the Blue Bolts racked up 22 points while holding the Copper Kings to just six.
