HOUGHTON — Michigan Tech junior linebacker Chase Koch has been named to the 2025 D2CCA All-Super Region 3 Second Team, the Division II Conference Commissioners Association announced Thursday.
“Chase got a lot of statistical notoriety, if you will,” said Huskies coach Dan Mettlach. “Ten tackles this game, 12 tackles that game. He had a couple picks and played really well.”
Koch, a native of Madison, Wisconsin, and All-GLIAC First Teamer, paced Michigan Tech with 105 total tackles, two interceptions, four breakups and two quarterback hurries.
Koch is the first Husky since Marc Sippel in 2022 to surpass 100 total tackles in a season. He finished the season ranked 19th in the country in total tackles per game and second in the GLIAC.
Koch is the second Husky under Mettlach, Michigan Tech’s third-year head coach, along with punter Brenden Lach earning First Team accolades a season ago, to be honored at the region level.
The Huskies finished in a tie for third in the GLIAC with a 4-3 record in GLIAC play and a 7-4 overall standing for the 2025 season-The first time Michigan Tech recorded seven or more wins in two-straight seasons in a decade.
