Michigan Tech distance runner Sam Shaver lowered her metric mile personal-record for the second straight weekend, knocking over 2.5 seconds off of her personal best from the GLIAC Championships, running 4:40.87 in the second section of the 1,500m invitational Friday. The sophomore from Grand Blanc, Michigan, also finished third overall in the open section of the 800m Saturday, her first race at the distance this season, to take second in the first section in a new personal record time of 2:18.38.
