Milkey, Holbrook honored as outstanding seniors

LAKE LINDEN — The Lake Linden-Hubbell Lakes announced their 2026 Outstanding Seniors Thursday. Travis Holbrook and Cleo Milkey were both honored for their efforts during their careers at Lake Linden.

Holbrook earned 15 varsity letters during his high school athletic career while demonstrating dedication, leadership, and sportsmanship across multiple sports. He competed in football, basketball, baseball, and track and field, consistently representing the Lakes with pride and determination.

In football, he earned Second Team All-Conference honors as a lineman in 2026, and was selected to participate in the 2026 Football All-Star Game.

He was also recognized with the school’s All-Around Athlete Award, presented to seniors who participate in a sport during every season of their high school career. His commitment, versatility, and work ethic made him an important part of the athletic program throughout his time at Lake Linden-Hubbell.

In addition to athletics, Holbrook was a member of SLACK, the school’s student leadership

program. He plans to attend Olivet College and major in sports management and play football. He is the son of Betzee and Tribin Holbrook.

Milkey earned 12 varsity letters while excelling in basketball, softball, track and field, and volleyball, all while maintaining a 3.71 GPA.

She completed one of the top basketball careers in school history, finishing with 1,582 career points as the second-leading scorer in school history. She earned First Team All-Conference honors all four years, was a two-time Elite Team selection, and received All-U.P. Second Team recognition three times.

In track and field, she helped lead the 4×100 relay team to U.P. Finals championships in 2023 and 2025, while also earning a runner-up finish in 2024 and placing fourth in long jump.

She also earned All-Conference and Elite Team honors in volleyball also being recognized as All UP D4 First Team, further showcasing her athletic ability and competitiveness across multiple sports.

In addition to her athletic accomplishments, Milkey is a member of the National Honor Society and SLACK, the school’s student leadership program. She plans to attend Bay College to study nursing and continue her basketball career.

She is the daughter of Penny and Ryan Milkey.
