Gremlins hockey announces reunion plans

HOUGHTON — The Houghton High School hockey team is hosting their annual reunion and alumni games on Saturday, July 18. The Gremlins will be celebrating their 2026 Division 3 state title with three alumni games over the course of the afternoon at the MacInnes Student Ice Arena.

The Legends will play at 1 p.m. The 30 and over teams will play at 2:30 p.m. and the 18 and over teams will play at 4 p.m.

Admission to the games will be free, and all fans are welcome to attend and cheer the players on.

Following the games, there will be a reception at Dee Stadium. Alumni, family and friends, and supporters are invited to attend and share their stories.

Registration is ongoing, with the deadline being July 1. Those interested can register online at https://www.houghtongremlins.com/Registrations. Those planning to attend can choose between the game and reception, the reception only, or the game only, with costs depending on what participants choose.

Game registration will include a commemorative jersey for the participants.

Locker sponsorship opportunity

Locker nameplates will be available for purchase. Sponsors may personalize a locker stall with their name and select their preferred stall location in the locker room.

Preserving Houghton hockey history

Houghton is also asking alumni to bring photographs, newspaper articles, team rosters, awards, and any other memorabilia so they can be displayed throughout the reunion in order to help celebrate the proud history and tradition of Houghton hockey.
