Moyle, Superior Service earn earn wins in women’s fastpitch
LAKE LINDEN — In Copper Country Women’s Fastpitch softball action Wednesday, Moyle/Finnish Coat earned an 11-8 win over Northern Wishes at the Boneyard in Lake Linden. In the other game, Superior Service cruised to a 13-5 victory over Figaro’s Pizza.
Moyle/Finnish Coat turned to Krista Carello in the circle, and she did not disappoint. She racked up seven strikeouts in the game.
For Northern Wishes, Rosalie Kangas and her sister, Larissa Peterson split the game. Kangas matched Carello’s seven strikeouts, while Peterson picked up a pair.
Offensively, Romi Mattson and Brynn Arko drove things for Moyle/Finnish Coat. The pair combined for seven hits, with Arko picking up four herself.
Northern Wishes’ offense was driven by Meg Ruohonen, who hit a home run and also hit a pair of doubles.
Kangas also had a home run and two singles. Theresa Anderson had a double and two singles.
SUPERIOR SERVICE 13, FIGARO’S PIZZA 5
Superior Service turned to Isabelle Cleary in the circle, and she was everything they asked for, striking out seven to earn the win.
Danni Stites and Kaylee Newsom combined for eight strikeouts as both of them struck out four each for Figaro’s.
Superior Service’s offense was driven by Mallory Sporalski, who had a triple and two singles. Along with her hits, Raili Marcotted and a double and a single.
Gracie Moyle and Molly Bugni had two singles each.
For Figaro’s, Trinity Rajala racked up a double and a single. Lena Myhren had a triple and a single as well.

Monday, Gold Standard will face Northern Wishes at 5:30 p.m. Figaro’s Pizza returns to action, this time facing Moyle/Finnish Coat at 7:15 p.m. Both games will be at the Boneyard in Lake Linden.
