HANCOCK — The 68th Annual Coca-Cola International Frisbee Tournament will take place at the Hancock Driving Park, located at 1500 Birch Street, July 11 and 12.

Known as the granddaddy of Guts Frisbee, this event offers fans an exciting look at a sport where Frisbees are thrown at speeds up to 80 mph from a distance of 14 meters.

Admission is free for all spectators.

Also included will be an International Frisbee and USA Guts Hall of Fame Induction at the Hancock Community Hub on July 11 at 7:15 p.m. Guts will be honoring and inducting five people into the Hall of Fame, which is located at the Calumet Coliseum.

The 2026 Class of Inductees spans the original days of Guts Frisbee to current times.

James Boggio, Sr. of Eagle Harbor brings back memories of the original 1960s competitive picnic tournaments held in their Ballyard. Janna Field of Rochester was one of the early competitors in the 1970s Pasadena Rose Bowl All Around Frisbee events, and demonstrated the high level of skills that women brought to the game. Stephen “Desi” DesJardins of Marquette showed how valuable hockey goalie skills translated to a successful Guts Frisbee career. Scott Smith of Marquette’s lefty shot displayed the value of a high caliber offense. “Bud” DePetro is a multi-Frisbee sport champion and continues to this day supporting disc golf in Marquette and surrounding communities.

Many people have watched or played Guts Frisbee in their past, and the sport is experiencing growth both nationally and internationally.

Fans are encouraged to relive this excitement and join the local competitors during the weekend after the country’s 250th anniversary.
