STANTON — Houghton Building Supply/Stanton got back on the winning track Tuesday with a 7-1 victory over Northern Driveline in Twilight League play in Stanton.

It was a game in which Stanton scored in all but two innings. It started in the first with a home run, and the men in pinstripes never looked back.

“Zach (Geborkoff) got us going with a home run in the first and ended the game with a two-run single,” said Staton player-coach Daron Durocher.

Levi Frahm earned the win on the mound for Stanton as he threw three scoreless opening innings. Bryce Hanner finished the game, and according to Daron Durocher, defense was key.

“Other than one error, we played solid defense,” he said.

After Geborkoff’s homer, Stanton added another run in the third. Crossing home that frame was Joel Durocher after reaching on a double to deep center. He was knocked in on a Frahm single. Stanton led 2-0.

Northern Driveline’s only run came in the top of the fourth. A walk to Brent Loukus led to scoring courtesy of an Oskar Loukus single. It was a 2-1 lead for Stanton at that point.

Things were never that close again once Stanton’s bats started rolling.

While Stanton did not score in the fourth, they did in the fifth and four more times in the sixth. Scoring in the fifth was Hanner after reaching on a base hit.

In the sixth, a walk to Joel Durocher led to a run as did a later walk to Daron Durocher. The other two runs were started with base hits by Eli Luoma and Dax Durocher.

Brent Loukus was the losing pitcher of record for Northern Driveline.
