DOLLAR BAY -- The Dollar Bay-Tamarack City Blue Bolts hosted Superior Central and the Copper Island Academy for a series of matches Friday.
Dollar Bay swept Copper Island, 25-18, 25-14, and 25-17, then swept Superior Central, 25-13, 25-17, and 25-21. Superior Central also swept Copper Island.
In their first match of the day, freshman Ellie Keranen scored 13 service points, including four aces for the Blue Bolts against Copper Island.
Hannah Keranen had 10 kills. Laila Bell added six kills.
Kiya Kemppainen had 18 digs to lead the defense. Sylvie Kentala racked up 13 assists.
Defense led the way for the Blue Bolts in the match against Superior Central.
Kemppainen, Ava Nye, and Ellie Keranen combined for 38 digs.
Hannah Keranen had seven kills. Lillian Pelland-Rippey and Haley Pakkala finished with five kills each.
Kentala had 17 assists, and was dominant from the service line, where she had 12 service points, including three aces.
