CALUMET -- With just over two weeks until race day, the Great Deer Chase presented by Cross Country Sports is coming together quickly.
The adult long race will be offering a cash purse to the top three male and female finishers ($125, $75, $50), and all races will feature great merchandise prizes from the sponsors who make the overall podium. Also, the McGann Building Supply Award for the top male and female finisher in the Ore to Shore Hard Rock 48 Mile and Great Deer Chase adult long race events. Racers will be rewarded for the event prizes that include a Trek Precaliber kids MTB for youth events from Cross Country Sports, a Giant Liv 29-inch dual suspension MTB from Down Wind Sports, and a set of Blunt 29-inch Velocity Wheels, made in Michigan, at the event.
The youth-focused events have been subsidized for younger riders by youth events sponsor Rhythm Bike Shop and Level UP of Houghton. They will feature great age groups and medals to recognize kids on the podium, along with the new kids four-mile race.

For racers who make the top three overall for each race, podium celebrations are planned, including prizes from sponsors and a custom bouquet for the winner of each race from Calumet Floral.
The Great Deer Chase registration is open so sign up to race, volunteer or donate to the trails. Race T-Shirts and custom ONYX racing products' top caps are going fast, so register today All proceeds from the Great Deer Chase will go straight back to the trails.
