Huskies 2026 cross country teams’ schedules unveiled

HOUGHTON -- The Michigan Tech Huskies cross country teams' schedule was released late last week featuring a home meet and a three-meet regular season.
“With this year being a fall festival year and the delay that puts on the championship part of cross country season, coupled with adding indoor meets to our track & field schedule it made sense to take a careful look at the meets we run, considering both the timing of our races as well as what sort of opportunities we find at each,” said Huskies coach Robert Young. “This new schedule should help us emphasize the championship portion of our cross country schedule, and transition more seamlessly onto the indoor track in December than past interactions have.
"We’re excited to see how it pans out.”
The Huskies open the season at the Oshkosh Titan Classic on Sept. 18, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Michigan Tech will go nearly a month without competition, traveling to Peoria, Illinois, on Oct. 17 for the Bradley Pink Classic hosted by Bradley University.
The Huskies will then play host to the Husky Invitational taking place at the Tech Trails on Oct. 30.
The postseason begins for the Huskies on Nov. 6, traveling to Hammond, Indiana, for the GLIAC Championships. For the second consecutive year, the Midwest Regional Championships will be hosted by Parkside at the Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course.
The NCAA Championships will be held in Kansas City, Missouri, on Dec. 5, as part of the festival year celebration.
