Huskies women’s basketball team unveils 2026-27 schedule

HOUGHTON -- The Michigan Tech Huskies women’s basketball team's schedule has been unveiled for the 2026-27 season under first-year coach Eric Gruber. The campaign features 11 home contests, 20 conference games and eight non-conference tilts against opponents affiliated with the NSIC, GLVC and GMAC.
Nonconference play
For the second consecutive year, the Huskies will travel to East Lansing, Michigan, to clash with Big 10 affiliate Michigan State for an exhibition game on Oct. 28. The Spartans coaching staff has two former Huskies players and coaches in Kim Cameron and Maria Kasza.
The Huskies host Winona State for its season and home-opener on Monday, Nov. 9, slated for a 6 p.m. tipoff before taking to the road for five-straight matchups. For the fourth-consecutive season, the Black and Gold will travel to the Wisconsin Dells for the JustAGame Crossover on Nov. 13-14 facing GLVC foes Upper Iowa and Lewis.
The November schedule wraps in Minnesota, with the Huskies traveling to NSIC opponents Minnesota Duluth on Thursday, Nov. 19 (7 p.m.), Bemidji State on Friday Nov. 27 (6:30 p.m.) and Minnesota Crookston on Sunday, Nov. 29 (2 p.m.).
Michigan Tech’s final non-conference road trip of the season will be on Dec. 17 and Dec. 19 as the Huskies trek downstate for tilts against GMAC affiliates, Northwood (5:30 p.m.) and Hillsdale.
GLIAC play
For the second consecutive season, the Huskies open GLIAC play on the road, beginning at Parkside on Dec. 5 (5:30 p.m.) before visiting Roosevelt on Dec. 7 (12 p.m.). After wrapping up non-conference play, Michigan Tech embarks on another three-game road swing, traveling to Ferris State on Dec. 31 (5:30 p.m.), Davenport on Jan. 2 (12 p.m.), and Northern Michigan on Jan. 7 (5:30 p.m.).
Michigan Tech then returns to the SDC Gym for a three-game homestand, hosting Wayne State on Jan. 11 (5:30 p.m.), Saginaw Valley State on Jan. 14 (5:30 p.m.), and Lake Superior State on Jan. 16 (12 p.m.).
Michigan Tech hits the road again on Jan. 21 for a matchup with two-time defending national champion Grand Valley State (5:30 p.m.) before traveling to Purdue Northwest on Jan. 23 (12 p.m.).
The Huskies alternate between home and road games over the next two weeks, welcoming Davenport on Jan. 28 (5:30 p.m.) and Ferris State on Jan. 30 (12 p.m.) before visiting Lake Superior State on Feb. 4 (5:30 p.m.) and Saginaw Valley State on Feb. 6 (12 p.m.).
Michigan Tech closes the regular season with five of its final six games at the SDC Gym. The stretch begins with three straight home contests against Purdue Northwest on Feb. 11 (5:30 p.m.), Grand Valley State on Feb. 13 (12 p.m.), and Northern Michigan on Feb. 18 (5:30 p.m.).
The Huskies then make their final road trip of the regular season to Wayne State on Feb. 20 (12 p.m.) before returning home to host Roosevelt on Feb. 25 (5:30 p.m.) and Parkside on Feb. 27 (12 p.m.) to conclude the regular season.
