GLADSTONE -- The Hancock Bulldogs volleyball team took home the championship at the annual Rock Tournament held Saturday in Gladstone. The Bulldogs went 5-1 in pool play, splitting their opening match against host Gladstone, then went 2-0 against both Iron Mountain and Carney-Nadeau.
In the semifinals, the Bulldogs dropped the first set to a scrappy Gwinn team, 24-26, but then came roaring back with convincing wins of 25-18, and 15-10.
In the final, the Bulldogs faced Crystal Falls Forest Park, who went undefeated in pool play with a perfect 6-0 mark.
The first set was all Forest Park with a convincing 25-16 win. The Hancock girls then won the second set in extra points, 28-26, before finishing off the match with a 15-9 victory to take home “The Rock.”
Hancock’s Chloe Bastian was named to the All-Tournament Team.
