Huskies soccer falls at Cedarville Saturday

CEDARVILLE, Ohio -- The Michigan Tech Huskies soccer team fell 3-0 at Cedarville Saturday afternoon. The Yellow Jackets scored a goal in the first half and a pair in the final 45 minutes.

Kacy Rosenthal opened the scoring with a free kick from 20 yards out 14:40 into the contest.

Seren Johnson added to the lead early in the second half at 51:38. Mya Simpson set up the play with an assist in the box.

Johnson added her second of the game at 76:47 with an assist going to Katie Ulmer.

Cedarville led in shots 20-7, including a 12-3 advantage in shots on goal.

Sophomore midfielder Karli Koskinen had two shots on goal for the Huskies while sophomore midfielder Sophie Rater added one.

Fifth-year keeper Bri Barrows made nine saves.

Up next

Michigan Tech hosts Saginaw Valley State Friday at 6 p.m. in their GLIAC opener. The Huskies will then face Grand Valley State Sunday at Kearly Stadium.
