Lakes football stays undefeated with win over Mustangs

MUNISING -- With scores in all four quarters, the Lake Linden-Hubbell Lakes football team improved to 3-0 with a 50-12 win over the host Munising Mustangs Friday,

The Lakes scored eight points in the first quarter, 20 in the second, 14 in the third, and closed with eight more in the fourth to seal the win.

Brady Axford continued his strong senior season, going 2-for-4 through the air for 21 yards. He also ran 16 times for 108 yards on the ground and a two-point conversion. He made two catches for 33 yards and a touchdown.

Blake Lebo went 4-for-6 through the air for 142 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. He ran the ball five times for 31 yards and a touchdown as well.

Tyler Axford was also good, rushing 11 times for 85 yards, one touchdown, and one two-point conversion. He also made one catch for 42 yards and a touchdown.

Tobin Baril ran eight times for 80 yards, a touchdown and a two-point conversion. Alfred Milkey ran seven times for 52 yards and a touchdown.

Lukas Axford led the receiving corps with three catches for 88 yards and a touchdown.

The Lakes return home Saturday to face the Norway Knights. Both teams come into the matchup undefeated at 3-0.
