Dollar Bay falls in five
EWEN -- The Dollar Bay-Tamarack City Blue Bolts volleyball team fell on the road at Ewen-Trout Creek Thursday night, 26-28, 25-8, 25-29, 26-28, 23-25, to the Panthers.
For Dollar Bay, Lillian Pelland-Rippey led all hitters with 20 kills, followed by Hannah Karanen with 16.
Ava Nye led from the service line with 14 service points, including a pair of aces.
Kiya Kemppainen ended the night with 44 digs, alongside Ellie Keranen, who racked up 34 digs. Sylvie Kentala totaled 57 assists for the match.
Houghton take Jeffers in five
PAINESDALE -- After dropping the first two sets, the Houghton Gremlins volleyball team defeated the Jeffers Jets on the road by winning the final three, 16-25, 21-25, 25-23, 25-23. 15-10.
Lydia Williams led the offense for Houghton with 18 kills, two aces, 20 digs and four blocks.
Katia Rudak had 31 digs. Alyssa Northey had 35 assists, two aces and 34 digs.
