HOUGHTON -- The Michigan Tech Huskies volleyball team saw two players honored Monday. Freshman right side hitter Reagan Lesley was named the GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week and junior libero Keeley Nellis was named the GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.

Lesley put down 34 kills in a pair of victories on the road for the Huskies, averaging 4.25 kills per set while hitting .443.

"We had to shift our lineup due to a scheduling necessity," said Huskies coach Cindy Pindral. "So, just out of necessity, we needed to play with a new lineup, and it was just really exciting to see her show up. That was awesome."

Lesley tallied a season-best 20 kills and hit .375 in a five-set win at No. 19 Grand Valley State on Friday. She wrapped up the weekend with 14 kills in a sweep at Roosevelt on Saturday while hitting .571.

"Kudos to her for taking her time a little bit and kind of playing the role that needed to be played," Pindral said. "We have so many capable attackers on our team. So, it’s a blessing and a curse, right, because you can’t get everybody in. There’s only so many spots. But, Reagan has been working really hard in practice all year."

Nellis tallied 37 digs and 11 assists in a pair of road wins, averaging 4.63 digs per set. She hit the 20-dig mark for the eighth time this season, tallying 23 digs in a 3-2 win at No. 19 GVSU.

"Keeley is fabulous when she turns it on and when she decides, 'That ball is not going to hit ground, and I’m going to really make a difference in this match,' then it’s lights out, game over," said Pindral. "She was awesome.

"Keeley does so much to lead our team in the backcourt-sense of things."

Nellis added 14 digs in a sweep at RU. She ranks sixth in the GLIAC in digs per set (4.17).
