Theodore John Blom

August 23, 1933 - June 14, 2024

Eau Claire, WI – Theodore John Blom was called home to be with our Lord on June 14, 2024 at Milestone Senior Living in Eau Claire, WI. Born August 23, 1933 in Hancock, MI to John (Ike) Blom and Lillian Drew Blom, Ted lived in various locations in the Copper Country area with his parents and siblings. He graduated from Jeffers High School in Painesdale.

Ted served in the Army and was stationed in Fort Belvoir, VA. He and his dad worked on the electrical wiring install of the Mackinac Bridge at the time it was built.

He met his wife, Margaret Keranen of Elo, on the 4th of July, 1956 in South Range, MI and they married Dec 21, 1957. They lived in Painesdale and moved to White Pine in 1965 where they raised their 3 children. He worked at White Pine Mine as an electrician and Chief Electrician from 1956 until his retirement in 1992.

Ted was a member of the Eagles, Lions, Masons, American Legion, White Pine Volunteer Fire Dept and White Pine Methodist Church. He and Margaret loved to travel, dance and socialize. They accomplished their goal of travelling to all 50 states and then enjoyed many winters in Donna, TX in their retirement years. Ted was a generous and kind man.

Ted is survived by his loving children Rick Blom (Anne) of Buffalo, MN, daughters Laurie Skoviak (Greg) of Lakeville, MN and Wendy Bulinski (Randy) of Eau Claire, WI, 5 grandchildren; Nicole, Jackie, David, Tessa and Scott and 7 great grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers and spouses Keith (Skip) and Debbie Blom of Marquette, MI, John and Marsha Blom of Ringwood, OK, sister Bette Heikkila of Painesdale, numerous nieces and nephews and sisters-in-law, Mitzi Bellack, Bertha Karsama and Jean Keranen.

Preceding him in death are his loving wife Margaret, his parents, siblings Barbara Jean and Kenneth Blom and in-laws Don Heikkila and Sandy Blom.

A Service will be held Saturday, June 29 at 1 p.m. at the White Pine Community United Methodist Church. There will be a short visitation prior and a luncheon following the service. Ted and Margaret will be buried together at Forest Hill Cemetery in Houghton, MI at a later date.
