HOUGHTON — Three Houghton FC Select Teams recently traveled to Midland Sept. 7-8 to compete in Midland Soccer Club’s Fusion Invitational Tournament.
The U12 team swept all four of their games to earn their division title. The U14 team faced tough competition in a U15 bracket and came home with a third-place finish out of a field of eight teams. The U10 team gained experience and stayed competitive during their games.
The club traveled to Ironwood on Sept.14, for a Northwoods League day, and will travel to Ashland, Wisconsin, on Sept. 28, for Chequamegon Bay Soccer Club’s Fall Jamboree, to Escanaba on Oct. 5, for a Northwoods League day, and end the fall portion of their competitive season in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, on Oct. 12-13 at the Copia Cup tournament.
Houghton FC is a non-profit youth soccer club drawing players from Baraga, Houghton and Keweenaw Counties.
